Founders of Punjab Poultry Trader Association

Tariq Javed and Javed Iqbal are the founders of the Punjab Poultry Traders Association. Their vision is to include individuals in the association who are genuinely interested in the growth of the industry, whether they are farmers, traders, suppliers, or retailers. These individuals should work together as a unified body to promote the industry’s growth both nationally and internationally. Their mission is to ensure that PPTA members are active 24/7 across all 36 cities of Punjab, so that no one associated with the industry suffers any loss or has to seek help elsewhere while the association is present.
Because this industry is one of the world’s largest, every good or bad time has an impact on it. Our members should understand that “Wo Apna Nazaria Rkhty hen”.

Overview of Poultry Industry in Punjab Province

Chicken is affordable, standard, and rich in protein. The Punjab Poultry Traders Association, with its 2700 members and 250,000 workers, continues to supply chicken. In Punjab, 90-92 million kilograms of chicken are consumed daily, out of which 32 million kilograms are used in Lahore. The highest costs in chicken production are feed, chicks, electricity, diesel, medicine, and labor. 70,000 people work to produce 150 million kilograms of chicken annually.
The poultry industry is rapidly growing in Punjab, but government actions such as the ban on soybean import have increased production costs. The rise in feed prices, chicks, electricity, and diesel has also increased chicken prices. The government has also imposed a 14% sales tax on feed, which will further increase prices. The government is pushing for cheaper chicken, but forcing retailers to sell at lower prices, which is impossible. As a result, consumers are buying expensive chicken, and conflicts between retailers and buyers are escalating.
